Brown Eyed Mama: So yeah..I’m still alive if you were wondering.

Wow, my last post was in November of last year for Anekah’s birthday. A lot has happened since then so let me get straight to it.

Anekah is going to be a big sister! Most people know this already. In fact, I am 18 weeks now! FINALLY! This has been a rough pregnancy from the start. I have been very sick and had a ER visit as well. But now everything is great, I am feeling much better, and the baby is movin’ and a groovin’! I had all intentions of taking pictures of my belly each month, but yeah, that didn’t happen. Up until now I felt like I just looked kinda chubby instead of “with child”. So I didn’t want to take any pics. I now however look like I am “with child” and am LOVING it!! We find out next Wednesday if the baby is a boy or girl. I’m very excited and anxious! This will be a new experience for us because we didn’t find out what Anekah was until the moment she finally decided to leave my uterus. Everyone keeps asking me if I prefer a boy or girl. I always say that having one of each would be nice, but if we have another girl I am a-okay with that. I love having a girl, adding another one to the casa sounds great! We just want a healthy baby, healthy mommy, and fast, easy labor. So in 7 days we will know if we will be bringing home a Luke Douglas or a Jolene (middle name TBD). Jolene is still not 100% choice yet. We both like it but we could change our minds. But Luke seems to be the boy name we both like and love. So next week I will make a post of what the baby will be.

No onto our sweet Anekah…

She is 2 1/2 years old. That pretty much sums it up right there. We are in the midst of potty training. It’s not going as well as I had hoped, but she will get it eventually. She is VERY excited to be a big sister. Every time I say something about the baby she always says that her baby in her tummy is doing the same thing. She thinks she is “with child” just like her mommy. :) It’s really very sweet. She likes to look at baby stuff with me online. She talks up a storm now. You can finally understand what she is telling you. She has a temper, doesn’t like to clean up, and likes to stay up late. She’s a very sweet little girl and we are so blessed to have her. She loves to sing. Her favorite song to see is “Jesus Loves Me”. She made up her own way of singing it and the name of it. She calls it “ Jesus Loves Me This I Know”. We love hearing her sing it! She cracks us up. She likes to say the blessing at dinner sometimes. Her prayer always goes like this… “Jesus loves me this I know…food…amen.”. Is that not the cutest thing!

As for Chris and myself, we are doing great. Chris just started a new job. He works literally right around the corner. It takes him about 7-10 minutes to get to and from work. He comes home almost everyday for lunch which we love so much! Anekah likes to eat lunch with her Daddy. We are in the process of fixing up our house. We like to do house renovations whenever I am pregnant. With Anekah, we redid our entire kitchen. I mean redid! Like sledge hammers to the countertops and cabinets. We love our kitchen so now we need to get the rest of our house up-to-date. We are doing all new doors, new flooring in the living room, hallway, guest room/possible nursery, and master bedroom. Painting every single wall besides Anekah’s room. We can’t wait! We are trying to get it all done before Sept 1st because we have family coming from Kentucky to stay with us!! So excited about that!! So a lot going on in the Albrektson household that’s for sure.
